Being a midwife is what God has called me to do. My natural birth philosophy was initially formed after the tragic birth of my nephew that resulted in the loss of my only sister in 1991. In 1994, the Lord began opening the door for me to train as a midwife through traditional apprenticeship with Kathy Brace and Wendy (Lamp) Johnson. In 2002 I completed my apprenticeship and training and began practicing as a primary midwife. I hang tightly to 1 Thessalonians 5:24, “faithful is He who calls you, and He will also bring it to pass”. Thankfully God has given me a precious ministry that causes me to trust Him, serve others (especially women and children), and see miracles at work. Encouraging and educating couples about pregnancy and birth is one of the highlights of my life. I teach childbirth classes where we seek to honor the Creator of natural birth and uniquely offer a Biblical perspective. I am honored to serve as a midwife to couples wanting to birth at home, The Birth Inn, or as a labor coach for those wanting a hospital birth”.I am the owner and caretaker of The Birth Inn, a home in Wichita, that I purchased in May of 2010. It is a place for couples to have their baby in a "home away from home".
